About the Role

Are you passionate about training the next generation of scientists and healthcare professionals? Do you have expertise in digital learning tools such as VR/AR, and experience in process development for future medicines? If so, Join the team at University of Birmingham as their Process Development and Digital Training Fellow.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in developing and delivering innovative training programs to support the manufacture of advanced medicines, including cell and gene therapies, biopharmaceuticals, and vaccines. You will design and deliver hands-on and digital training for diverse learners across industry, academia, and the NHS, helping to build a skilled workforce for the future of healthcare.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver training to NHS staff, industry professionals, and life sciences students

  • Lead digital course delivery strategies using VR, AR, and online tools

  • Develop and maintain training materials and protocols

  • Manage administrative processes, including registration and trainee onboarding

  • Collect and analyze feedback to improve training content

  • Engage with industry partners and contribute to national training strategies

  • Contribute to research and publications on innovative training methodologies

What they Are Looking For

You will have:

  • A degree in life sciences or engineering, with a higher degree (e.g., MSc, PhD) in immunology, cell biology, bioprocessing, or a related field

  • Experience in regulated research or clinical environments

  • Expertise in cell processing/culture

  • A strong interest in digital education tools (VR/MR, gaming consoles, e-learning platforms)

  • Knowledge of medicines manufacturing processes (preferred but not essential)

  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills

  • A commitment to diversity, inclusion, and innovation in education
