FlexBIO is IBioIC’s state-of-the-art Bioprocessing Scale-up Facility, hosted at Heriot-Watt University. We specialise in bridging the gap between laboratory innovation and industrial-scale implementation, enabling both industry and academia to advance their bioprocesses. Our facility supports a wide range of sustainable and impactful projects, such as healthcare innovations and the valorisation of waste. We are a recognised centre for bioprocess training through the RESILIENCE program, enabling us to empower the next generation of bioprocessing professionals.
FlexBIO is proud to be part of the “Pilots4U powered by COPILOT” initiative, which promotes open-access pilot and demo scale-up infrastructure across Europe. Through the COPILOT project, the Pilots4U database is being enhanced to support the European bioeconomy, while fostering stakeholder communities through dedicated “Scale-Up & Growth” and “Exchange & Connect” programs.
