Part of the SMDH Digitalisation Capabilities Cohort 2024 collection
Funded digitalisation readiness assessment dashboard and audit for SMEs, valued at £5000, provided through the Smart Manufacturing Data Hub
Location: Harvey Nash Edinburgh
This session introduces the funded Digitalisation Capability Assessment Programme sponsored by the Smart Manufacturing Data Hub until January 2025, a collaborative effort between Heriot-Watt University and the capability assessment platform Vyne Analytics. The service addresses the high failure rate of digital transformation projects (50-70%) by offering a comprehensive assessment tool for manufacturing SMEs to check their digitalisation readiness.
The project provides a free one-year subscription to Vyne Analytics' capability assessment dashboard and an onsite audit, funded by the Smart Manufacturing Data Hub, valued at £5000 per SME, and available to up to 60 companies.
The assessment covers various aspects including business value streams, strategy, culture, technologies, and supply structure.
Key benefits
Potential improvements in operational efficiencies and profitability by up to 20-30% over 5 years.
Benchmarked assessment scores and strategy alignment.
SME-specific recommendations for better stakeholder communication.
The service is applicable to micro, small, and medium-sized manufacturing companies and has been validated through various research and consultancy projects.
Distinguishing itself from existing resources like SMAS and SMDH, this service focuses on strategic, operational, and learning capabilities required for technological maturity and growth. It aims to provide unbiased, data-driven capability insights to guide digital transformation efforts effectively.
