Computational Biology Conference

Take part in talks, networking and learning about everything computational biology!

Venue:   Mazumdar-Shaw Advanced Research Centre, University of Glasgow

The 3rd Computational Biology Conference will be held at the University of Glasgow on 3 and 4 July 2023.  This volunteer-run event is intended to develop the network outside of the UofG cohort and expects to attract 150 - 200 attendees.

The conference is a great vehicle for networking as well as for exchange of experience in the wet lab and bioinformatics community.  This is hugely important as numbers of wet lab processes and bioinformatic tools grows steadily, if not exponentially, and any single group cannot monitor everything that is happening in the field. Hence the knowledge exchange is pivotal, and our conference provides a platform for such exchange.

Abstracts welcome until 22 May

Abstracts welcome from all areas related to computational biology.

The University of Glasgow computational biology conference is an opportunity for Ph.D. students and early career researchers to come together to share ideas and build collaboration for future projects. The conference will cover a wide variety of applied and methodological research related to computational biology, and we welcome researchers from a variety of backgrounds.

The conference will give the chance for students and early career researchers to present their work, but also give them the opportunity to listen to established researchers from within the University of Glasgow. This event provides excellent opportunities to network and discuss your research.

Topics of Interest

  • Omics

  • Systems Biology

  • Population Genetics

  • Medical Imaging

  • Computational approaches to public health and clinical data

Sponsorship options available

In return for sponsorship, our sponsors will benefit from the brand recognition and networking opportunities provided, such as gaining an understanding of how technologies are supporting the advancement of knowledge and how this can fit with their business models. The conference will also have a large student presence (both taught and research Masters students, and PhD students) which will be valuable to small companies looking to benefit from interacting with the niche audience whose skills may be relevant to their business/es.
