Call for IBioIC Governing Board Members
IBioIC is looking for a variety of experts to volunteer to join its Governing Board from May 2021.
IBioIC was established in January 2014 with a £10m core grant from the Scottish Funding Council with a remit to create an Industrial Biotechnology Community that uses Scottish Academic assets to bring economic benefit to Scotland. IBioIC gained its second phase of funding from Scottish Funding Council, Scottish Enterprise and Highlands and Islands Enterprise in August 2018 and has continued its work in growing the industrial biotechnology sector in Scotland by fulfilling the aims of the National Plan for Industrial Biotechnology.
IBioIC is looking for Board members who have a passion for innovation in Industrial Biotechnology, preferably with an industrial background and having held senior positions in sectors such as waste management, renewable energy, forestry, food and drink, oil and gas as well as the more traditional chemical and life sciences. IBioIC is also looking for Board members that have experience in Senior positions in Government, Higher Education, enterprise, private investment and funding bodies. A knowledge of governance systems in the public sector is preferred.
