IBioIC is delighted to welcome all members to an exclusive, members-only, networking event on 17 June.
This informative and informal event will include short case studies from selected companies and the opportunity for new members to give a short pitch, as well as an update from IBioIC on current developments, some optional breakout discussions on various relevant topics, and one-to-one networking rooms will be available online.
Main Speakers
Heather Perman, Policy Adviser, Directorate for Economic Development, Scottish Government
Heather is a Policy Adviser for the Scottish Government with a focus on industrial biotechnology. She joined Scottish Government in April last year during the first lockdown, from the private sector where she specialised in change management.
Alison (Ali) Morrish, Policy Officer, Directorate for Economic Development, Scottish Government
Ali is a Policy Officer for the Scottish Government with a focus on industrial biotechnology. She joined Scottish Government shortly before the first lockdown, and has previously worked in the private sector as an electrical engineer and as a performance sailing coach.
Dr Adam Ostrowski, Technical Application Specialist, Cellexus International Ltd
After completing post-doctoral research at the University of Dundee, Adam moved to industry, joining APS Biocontrol as a research scientist where he developed bacteriophage-based approaches to food preservation and safety. He is now responsible for scientific support to the customers of Cellexus and further development of the flagship CellMaker range of single-use bioreactors. With his scientific background he is the “interpreter” between system users and the company engineers, ensuring they have the best experience with the CellMaker bioreactors.
Dr Leonardo Magneschi, Head of Molecular Biology, Ingenza Ltd
During his career at Ingenza Ltd (2016 – present), Leonardo has been directly involved in the design and construction of plasmids and strains for a multitude of customer projects, ranging from pharma, biofuels and renewable materials applications. He has acquired first-hand experience in genetic engineering of both prokaryotic and eukaryotic hosts. With nearly 15 years’ experience in microbial biotechnology, Leonardo has published 17 papers in international peer-reviewed scientific journals and was granted inventorship on two international patents. Two additional patents were submitted in 2019 and 2020.
