Innovate UK KTN are holding a briefing event on 3 August to support the launch by DEFRA on Monday 25 July 2022 of The Farming Futures R&D Fund: Sustainable farm-based protein, feasibility studies. This funding is part of the Farming Innovation programme which is delivered in partnership with UKRI’s Transforming Food Production Challenge and is for projects with total costs between £200,000 and £500,000.
The call opened Monday 25 July and closes on Wednesday 21 September at 11am.
This briefing event will take place online on 3 August.
Projects must seek to significantly improve:
productivity
sustainability and environmental impact of farming
progression towards net zero emissions
longer term resilience
Projects must be in one or more of the four industry subsectors:
livestock
plants
novel animal feed production systems (such as algae, seaweed, insects, etc)
bioeconomy and agroforestry
Please note that proposals must be able to demonstrate how the project will benefit farmers, growers or foresters in England.
