This will be a joint Congress, IBS2020 and ECB2020. The annual Netherlands Biotechnology Conference, NBC-20, as well as other highlight and satellite events from partners will complete the program.
Congress postponed until 9-12 May 2021
Due to the continued spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), the Organising Committee of the Joint ECB2020 and IBS 2020 Congress have taken the decision to postpone this year's Congress, due to take place from 28 June to 1 July 2020.
Though small in surface area, the Netherlands is a major player in biotechnology. Its success is based on a strong academic backbone, an entrepreneurial spirit, a remarkable talent to get things organized and a natural ability to cooperate. Maastricht lies at the heart of a region of 4 million people from four countries. It is the oldest city of the Netherlands and has maintained its epic charm. It is relatively small and compact with about 125.000 inhabitants. The city has an important international focus, with many international institutes, an academic hospital, a university, and the renowned conference centre MECC. Another advantage of this central location is the direct access to neighbouring biotechnology activities in Belgium, Germany and France.
IBS2020, ECB2020 and NBC-20 will showcase frontline science that will form the basis for future commercial innovation. The scientific programme reveals an excellent line-up of plenary lectures and invited speakers. In line with the IBS and ECB tradition, we will promote the participation of young scientists by encouraging them to submit their original work to be considered for presentation as short talks or posters.
