Join the BBIA, in collaboration with the University of Sheffield, NNFCC, Perspective Economics, Higginson Strategy, and Resource Media, for the launch of our £500,000 Innovate UK-funded initiative: the UK Bio-based and Biodegradable Materials Regulatory Science and Innovation Network (BB-REG-NET).
About BB-REG-NET:
BB-REG-NET aims to::
Generate Evidence: Utilise regulatory science tools, including standards, metrics, and peer-reviewed research, to support policy development and assist regulators with complex decision-making.
Foster Collaboration: Build robust partnerships across the regulatory innovation ecosystem, integrating expertise from diverse disciplines.
Promote Knowledge Sharing: Provide evidence-based insights to policymakers, enabling the comprehensive assessment of risks and benefits associated with bio-based and biodegradable materials (BB-materials).
Drive Business Growth: Remove commercialisation barriers for BB-materials, advancing the UK’s circular bioeconomy and contributing to sustainable economic growth.
By implementing BB-REG-NET, we will establish a dynamic stakeholder network to develop innovative tools, standards, and methodologies. These resources will help evaluate the quality, performance, and environmental and economic impacts of BB-materials, ensuring sound and transparent regulatory decision-making while supporting the bioeconomy.
