A Year-Long Celebration of Innovation

Launched in January 2025, the ‘Glasgow’s Innovation Journey’ campaign showcases how past industries paved the way for today’s advancements. Glasgow once built 20% of the world’s ships—now, it’s a global leader in aerospace, digital manufacturing, and materials science.

Engineering Excellence & The Future of Manufacturing

From James Watt’s steam engine to next-gen robotics and automation, Glasgow’s legacy of engineering continues. The Advanced Manufacturing Innovation District Scotland (AMIDS) hosts pioneers like the National Manufacturing Institute Scotland (NMIS) and the Medicines Manufacturing Innovation Centre, attracting major players such as Rolls-Royce and BAE Systems.

Glasgow is also a leader in small satellite manufacturing, thanks to AAC Clyde Space and Spire Global. Companies like Novosound and Chemify are revolutionising industries with cutting-edge sensors and automated chemical synthesis.
