Soniya Singh aims to build on the experience from her bachelor’s in biotechnology and aspires to innovate, lead, and contribute to positive advancements in the sector.

 

Why did you decide to undertake this MSc?

I decided to undertake an MSc in Industrial Biotechnology to deepen my understanding and expertise in applying biotechnological principles to industrial processes. Building on my bachelor’s in biotechnology, I sought to acquire specialized knowledge that would enable me to contribute significantly to the intersection of biology and industry. This program aligns with my career goals and passion for developing sustainable solutions within the biotechnology sector.

 

What are your ambitions for the future?

My ambitions for the future include leveraging my skills and knowledge to make meaningful contributions in the field of biotechnology. I aspire to take on challenging roles that allow me to innovate, lead, and contribute to positive advancements in research sector. Continuous learning and professional growth are integral to my journey as I aim to make a lasting impact in my chosen field.

 

What has been your favourite part of the MSc to date?

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the hands-on experience in the labs during my MSc program. The practical application of theoretical knowledge has been both challenging and rewarding. Looking forward, the anticipation of upcoming site visits adds an exciting dimension, providing real-world insights that complement and enhance my academic learning.

 

Where/what do you think the next innovation in IB will be? 

While predicting the destiny of innovation in Industrial Biotechnology is hard, there's developing hobby in regions like synthetic biology, precision fermentation, and advanced bioprocessing techniques. These avenues maintain the capacity to revolutionize business procedures, enabling greater sustainable and green manufacturing. Additionally, the mixing of data analytics and synthetic intelligence in bioprocess optimization is in all likelihood to play a pivotal function in shaping the following wave of improvements inside the subject.

 

What is an interesting fact about you / what do you enjoy doing away from your studies?

Outside of my studies, I’m passionate about staying active and socializing. I enjoy activities like running, playing basketball, and hitting the gym. Additionally, I find solace in reading self-help books, constantly seeking personal development and growth. Balancing physical activity, social interactions, and self-improvement brings a holistic dimension to my life beyond academic pursuits.
