PhD Funding Call IBioIC Open Call for 2022 PhD Projects
This call is currently closed. Check back soon for updates on future calls.
The call for projects to enter the IBioIC CTP in October 2022 is now closed. Two 100% funded studentships are available via application from HEI's across Scotland. All projects require at least one industrial partner at application stage. Lead industrial partners must be SMEs.
How to Enter
Prior to application, please download and read the call information document and associated files below and refer to the General Project Requirements and IBioIC funded projects sections on this website. In order to enter the competition, the IBioIC Project #10 Entry Form must be completed and returned with requested supporting documentation by the academic lead via email by Monday 18th May 2022 (noon).
Selection Criteria
PhD projects will be selected on their technical merits. All projects meeting the minimum criteria set out in the call documentation will be scored by three independent assessors from an approved pool of reviewers using a points system. The assessors will also comment on whether the work will lead to an awardable PhD. Projects scoring above the points system threshold will be technically eligible for funding. Funding will be awarded to projects scoring above the threshold and in descending order from the highest score until all studentships are filled. Cash contribution from the industrial partner may also be taken into consideration during assessment where differences between scoring is marginal. Technical merits include technical feasibility, technical ambition, degree of innovation and industrial relevance.
