Loris Fossier

Loris joined the team in November 2016, after the completion of his PhD in Marine Biotechnology at Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh. Prior to this, Loris graduated from the University of Lille in Industrial Biotechnology and Food Sciences (HND) and the University of Technology of Compiegne in France in Biotechnological Engineering (MEng). He also completed a MSc. in Food Chain Systems at Cranfield University in England. Over the course of his educational path, Loris gained a solid knowledge in the Biotechnology and Food Industry and developed skills in fermentation, industrial microbiology and biochemistry.

He also previously worked for several company such Lallemand and Premier Foods as well as large researcher centres such as the National Institute for Agricultural Sciences (INRA) in Paris.

Within IBioIC, Loris works in our equipment centres (RapidBio and FlexBio) and leads various projects from experimental plan design to technical support and trouble shootings. Working closely with both our lab facility managers, Loris provides solutions to our customers on the technical part of their project while bearing in minds their industrial requirement and needs.

During his spare time, Loris brings his fermentation skills at home through bread baking. If he is not at home, then he is likely to be swing dancing or hiking in the highlands!
