Stirling's biotechnology expertise is almost all within the Institute of Aquaculture. It includes fish genomics and the biology and control of bacterial and viral pathogens and arthropod parasites of farmed fish, including the development of novel diagnostic technologies and vaccines. Fish nutrition also involves biotechnology. Outside aquaculture there is IB expertise in sports nutrition and sports pharmacology.
