Glasgow Polyomics, a vibrant omics facility with state-of-the-art equipment at The University of Glasgow, is seeking to appoint a new Head of Metabolomics.

Using the facility administrative and technical support, the postholder will develop and lead their own research programme in the area of metabolomics, and preferably in one or more of these three strategic priority areas: 1) biomarker discovery; 2) disease-related metabolomics; 3) industrial biotechnology. The Head of Metabolomics leads the Glasgow Polyomics metabolomics laboratory, which provides an expert untargeted metabolomics service. Working alongside a proteomics laboratory, and complemented by an NGS laboratory, with support from a suite of bioinformaticians and data analysts with machine learning abilities, this busy facility serves researchers across the world.

The postholder must possess experience in biological mass spectrometry and metabolomics workflows with an established reputation in research within this field. This researcher will be part of the Institute of Infection, Immunity and Inflammation, within the College of Medical, Veterinary and Life Sciences  at The University of Glasgow, one of the UK’s research-intensive Russell Group Universities. This is a permanent, open-ended full-time position.
