MODERN APPRENTICE - ADMINISTRATION (143654)

The Industrial Biotechnology Innovation Centre (IBioIC) is housed within the Faculty of Science, and is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated Modern Apprentice to provide clerical and administrative support to the growing team. IBioIC represents an exciting opportunity for business, academia, and government to continue the development of a truly sustainable and balanced growth economy in Scotland.

Having been in operation since January 2014, the Centre supports the sectors of Industrial Biotechnology covering: health, marine, industrial and agriculture.

We are looking for a well-organised and IT literate individual who will provide administrative support for a broad range of activities. You should be comfortable working within a busy office environment and willing to learn and develop new skills. You should have good standard grade/National 5 qualifications, preferably including Office and Information Studies, and be willing to take on tasks as directed, as well as using your own initiative. The Modern Apprenticeship programme is co-ordinated within the University and gives the successful candidate an opportunity to “earn and learn,” as they will achieve a SQA qualification during the two-year programme.

Please note that, as a result of funding rules, Modern Apprentices must start the scheme before their 20th birthday.

For informal enquiries, please contact Susan Lynch, Modern Apprentice Coordinator, at s.e.lynch@strath.ac.uk or on 0141 548 4474.

Interviews for this post will be held on 17 August 2018.
