IBioIC is offering a prize of £2000 for teams competing at iGEM 2019.

The iGEM competition is now open for students around the world to generate innovative engineering biology solutions to real world problems. Multidisciplinary teams design, build and test their inventions and present them at the iGEM jamboree in Boston, USA October 31 - November 4, 2019. The competition attracts more than 5,000 innovators every year to showcase their ideas and talents to each other and the wider scientific community.

To promote the exceptional talent Scotland has to offer, IBioIC are offering a prize of £2,000 (to be matched by a Scottish host organisation) for teams competing at iGEM 2019. This will be enough to cover the summer stipend for two students.

• Applications must be from Scottish HEIs.
• Applications must demonstrate a relevance to industrial biotechnology.
• Funding must be matched by a host and a cover letter indicating that this matching is guaranteed should be appended to the application.

Applicants should fill in the application form and return it along with the cover letter from a host university to Isabel.vincent@ibioic.com by 5pm on Friday April 26th.
