GLASGOW SCIENCE CENTRE TO UNDERGO £4MILLION REVAMP

One of IBioiC's newest members, Glasgow Science Centre, is undertaking a £4M revamp and is seeking collaborations with the IBioIC network.

Glasgow Science Centre are in the process developing a new exhibition, Idea #59, as part of a major revamp aimed at attracting a more diverse group of visitors and get more people interested in science.  Idea #59 aims to inspire the next generation of engineers, scientists and innovators by engaging the wider community in a discussion about the potential impact of exponential technologies on the individual and society. They are seeking to create an experience centered on transformative technologies, including industrial biotechnology, and are keen to partner with IB companies, and include specific examples and stories as part of the demos throughout.

See the attached brochure for more background on Idea #59.

The Science Centre is currently in the fundraising phase of the project, needing an additional £10-15k to get to the phased delivery stage. IBioIC members who are interested in helping to raise this sum, in full or in part, and participate further as the exhibition moves toward raising an additional £500k for full delivery, are welcome to contact us in the first instance to request an introduction to Glasgow Science Centre.
