100% grant funding is available from Zero Waste Scotland for projects which reduce or prevent waste.

Zero Waste Scotland's Waste Prevention Implementation Fund offers grants to small and medium-sized organisations across Scotland.

What the Waste Prevention Implementation Fund can be used for:

Introducing more modern efficient workshop equipment, upgrading or re-design of machinery, reusable packaging, improved recycling facilities over and above legal requirements.

It might a big change, or small. It might be a simple idea or something sophisticated.

Businesses that have received funding include:

  • Food grower and retail business, Locavore, opted for a customer refill model to dramatically reduce plastic packaging;
  • A construction company replaced an old inefficient wall saw with a wood cutting machinery, enabling the better use of raw material and production of fewer offcuts;
  • Reduce spoilage in the kitchen: A hotel installed a vacuum pack machine to reduce waste and provide significant disposal and raw materials savings.

It’s easy to access support and so far we’ve helped over 3,000 businesses reduce costs of waste, water and energy use.
Take advantage of this free support to reduce your overheads – your competitors certainly will!

Whatever your idea for reducing waste, we want to hear about it. Get in touch through our dedicated Waste Prevention Implementation Fund page.

We’ll assess your idea and work out the potential cost and carbon savings to help you apply for the grant funding.

Resource Efficient Scotland is a programme from Zero Waste Scotland, funded by the Scottish Government and by the European Regional Development Fund through the £73 million Resource Efficiency Circular Economy Accelerator Programme.
