ICT-BIOCHAIN PROJECT MEETING AT VTT IN ESPOO, FINLAND 12-13TH FEBRUARY

ICT Biochain is a project funded by the Bio Based Industries Joint Undertaking (JU) under the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme, whose main objective is to identify opportunities for ICT to increase the efficiency of biomass supply chains for the bio-based industry. The latest project meeting has just taken place in Finland.

IBioIC’s Funding Manager, Johan Belfrage, was there to take part in a great couple of days where project team members gave status presentations on the work done so far and team activities for the coming six months were discussed and agreed.

Johan reported that; ‘It was great to hear that the first major deliverable from WP1, which is state of the art analysis on the available Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), Internet of Things (IoT) and Industry 4.0 solutions that can be applied in the mapping and mobilisation of biomass supply chains is almost done and will be published on the website within the next few weeks.’

The team also planned for the upcoming launch events of the Digital Innovation Hubs for the two Model Demonstrator Regions which will take place in Ireland on the 12-13th June, 2019 and in Andalusia, Spain on the 4th July 2019.
